19 Bengaluru Nursing Students admitted to hospital after Rat Repellent sprayed in hostel

As many as 19 nursing students fall ill and three out of them were treated at ICU due to suspected rat poison contamination at the hostel of Adarsh nursing college situated close to Amma Ashram in Jnanabharathi police station limits on Sunday night.

The three students identified as Jayanth Varghese, Dilish and Jomon were in the ICU and under observation.

The victim’s have been rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment by other students with the help of the general public.

The police rushed to the spot and upon inquiry it was revealed that the management had engaged a private person to spray rat poison at the cellar of the hospital where the generator had been installed.

Based on the complaint by Noel,one of the student,the police have registered a case against hostel management and manje gowda,the contractor who sprayed rat poison led to the incident,charging them under section 286 ( Negligent conduct with respect to poisonous substance) of BNS said a senior officer.
