Tracking down the rape accused is a combination of artificial and human intelligence which helped the police to track down 24-year-old Mukeshwaran from his house in SR Nagar in Audugodi and picked up while he was sleeping within 10 hours of the incident.
Senior officer told reporters,The accused Mukeshwaran who was drunk and returning home found the victim on the roadside in distress and offered to drop her and she obliged in the wee hours of Sunday .
Taking advantage of the situation,the accused took her to an isolated place where trucks bay on Hosur road and assaulted her .
The victim resisted and even scratched his face but the accused overpowered the victim who was exhausted and shocked,the officer said.
Meanwhile the victim sent SOS to her friend from her mobile and worried friend shared the live location with her friends who tracked her down and rescued her .
The police team who recorded the statement of the complainant and the victim obtained some vital information which was corroborated with the technical details .
Five special teams comprising of 50 police personnel was formed who scoured over 100 CCTV cameras to zero down on the accused .
Based on the physical discription
,the police identified the vehicle he had used but the number was not visible. with the help of local intelligence network and follow up of the cameras,the police team zeroed in on his residential locations and conducted a combing operation before picking up the accused who was sleeping at home.
During investigation it was revealed that the accused is a choreographer and living with his five siblings and mother.The victim is a daughter of army officer who is pursuing graduation in a city based college,the officer, said .
It may be recalled that the police have cracked a Koramangala murder case in July this year and arrested the accused from his home town in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh,three days after he stabbed a 24-year-old private firm employee to death outside her room in Paying Guest.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner, B Dayananda, has appreciated Addl CP East,Raman Gupta, DCP Southeast, Sarah Fathima,and her special team of 50 police personnel who worked relentlessly and puted their tireless efforts in cracking the case and arresting the pervert a rapist choreographer from his house in record time before he flees to other city a special reward will be given to whole team he added.
