Hyderabad: Flooding in Hyderabad.. waterlogged low lying areas

Heavy rains in Hyderabad. The low-lying areas of the city were flooded.

Hyderabad: Torrential rains lashed the city. All major roads and colonies were flooded due to incessant rain since early morning on Tuesday. Dilsukhnagar, Kothapet, Sarurnagar, LBnagar, Nagol and Alkapuri areas are experiencing heavy rain. Ameerpet, Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Khairatabad, Nampally, Basheer Bagh, Himayat Nagar, Abids, Nampally, Kuthbullapur, Balanagar, Gajularamaram, Jagadgirigutta, Bahadur Palli, Suraram, Suchitra, Gundla Pochalli, Pet Bashirabad, Jedimetar received torrential rain. Roads in Vanasthalipuram, BN Reddy Nagar, Hayatnagar, Pedda Amberpet and Abdullahpurmet areas are facing ponds. The main road of Khairatabad was knee-deep in water. The flood flow is increasing in the Musi river at Musarambagh.

The people of the low-lying areas under Musheerabad are facing severe difficulties. Ramnagar, Parsigutta, Buddha Nagar and Gangaputra colonies were heavily flooded. Locals said that an unidentified person was washed away in the rainwater. Cars were washed away in some places. GHMC officials said that people should be vigilant as the low-lying areas are completely submerged. It is advised not to come out unless it is urgent. On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Hyderabad. GHMC officials advised to call on 040-21111111 and 9000113667 numbers in case of any problem. GHMC and DRF staff have undertaken relief work at many places.

Heavy rain in Hyderabad till 10.30!

Hyderabad Meteorological Center has revealed that rains will occur in Telangana today also due to the effect of surface circulation and trough. Light to moderate rains along with heavy showers are likely in Central Telangana districts. It said that there is a chance of heavy rain in Hyderabad till 10.30 am. After that there is a possibility of decreasing.
