Modi in Ukraine: Modi in Ukraine, warm embrace with Zelensky

President Zelensky was warmly embraced as he joined hands with Modi as he reached the Martyrs’ Memorial in Kiev.

Kiev: Indian Prime Minister Modi, who is visiting Ukraine, met the country’s President Volodymyr Zelensky. President Zelensky greeted Modi on his arrival at the Martyrs’ Memorial in the capital, Kiev. Later, Modi paid tribute to the children who died in the Russian attack.

The two leaders viewed the exhibition organized in the museum regarding the monuments of the biggest crisis faced by Ukraine. President Zelensky will meet Modi, who is on a visit to Kiev, individually and at team level. The two leaders will discuss ways to resolve the Russia-Ukraine crisis.

Tribute to Gandhi statue

Modi paid tribute to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Kiev. He said that Bapuji’s ambitions were universal and inspired crores of people. He called upon humanity to follow the path shown by Mahatma.

After completing his two-day visit to Poland, Prime Minister Modi arrived in Ukraine after traveling for 10 hours. The people of Indian origin there gave a warm welcome to Modi at the railway station. This is the first time that an Indian Prime Minister has visited the country since its separation from the Soviet Union in 1991 and the formation of Ukraine.
