Jayanagar Police Arrests conman Who Was Extorting Money From Car Drivers In The Name Of Accident

The Jayanagar police on Saturday arrested a 29-year-old man who used to extort money from the motorists staging as victim of road accidents.

The accused Jameel Khan,resident of Rajendra Nagar,Mysuru was involved in 17 cases of similar nature including nine cases in Bengaluru,a officer, said.

Using Similar MO,the accused confronted,Prasad Kuduva,near cool joint in Jayanagar and faked the road accident alleging that the car had touched his scooter on Jayanagar 4th block on June 14 .

The accused created ruckus and forced him to pay compensation and made Mr.Kuduva to transfer Rs. 30,000 to his account online and took cash Rs.300 before fleeing the spot.

Based on the complaint, the police track down the accused through the CCTV footage and the bank account details and kept a watch for 15 days before he was arrested .

The accused according to the police used to stay in lodges and blow visit bars across the city to spend the extorted money  till he get his next target, a police officer,said .

The accused had committed similar offences in KR Sagar,Ashok Puram police station in Mysuru, Madduru and Bilikere police station limits in Hunsur.
