Labourer convicted to five years imprisonment for sexual assault on minor from neighbourhood outside Bengaluru

The Fast Track special court on Friday convicted a 33-year-old labourer to undergo five years imprisonment and a fine of Rs.10,000 for molesting a three-year-old girl from his neighbourhood in the outskirts of the city in July last year.

The victim was playing outside her house when the accused picked her up and molested before fleeing the spot .

The family members were busy in chores rushed out when the victim started crying and took her to the doctor who confirmed that the child was sexually assaulted .

Based on the complaint,Inspector Chennesh rushed to the scene of crime and analysed the CCTV footage from in and around the area before arresting the accused .

The police recorded the statement of the accused and filed a detailed detailed charge-sheet before the court along with the CCTV footage along with the statement of seven witnessed.This has helped the court to sentence the accused maximum punishment.

Superintendent of Police,Bengaluru district,CK Baba appreciated the police team for ensuring conviction in the case and said that the police will take a zero tolerance when it comes to crime against women and children.
