In a swift action the Bagaluru police on Thursday arrested a 50-year-old labourer who killed his wife over domestic row on Saturday and tried to create an alibi by filing a complaint the next day .
However the alert police based on the circumstantial evidence cracked the case within 48 hours and arrested the accused identified as Mahboob Pasha.
Senior officer told reporters that,Mahboob Pasha,a native of Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh had come to city few years ago along with his second wife Mumtaz.The duo stayed in a rented house in Razaq Palya and worked as daily wage labourers .
Off late Pasha started doubting his wife suspecting fidelity and the duo used to have frequent fights. Following a fight Pasha took Mumtaz to a Guava farm on the pretext of fetching fruits and bludgeoned her to death on Saturday.
He later returned leaving the body and stayed away from home the whole night,before filing a complaint with the police the next day .
Pasha told the police that he had gone to Kolar to visit his relatives and called wife over the phone but no response.He returned and searched for her to find her dead in the farm where they had worked .
Based on the complaint, the police began investigations and suspected Pasha as he started behaving strangely when he was questioned and started giving different version.
The police checked his mobile phone and found that Pasha did not go to Kolar and stayed in the city.Armed with the information,he was detained for questioning and Pasha confessed to the murder.
