Darshan’s VIP treatment in jail exposes jail irregularities and illegal activities inside and out unabated,court grants permission to shift darshan to Bellary jail

The recent episode of ” VIP treatment“ to film star Darshan has also exposed the fact that the around eight rowdy elements arrested by the city police under Karnataka Control of Organised Crimes Act ( KCOCA ) act and presently lodged in Parappana Agrahara continue their illegal activities inside and out unabated .

The rowdies have gangs inside the prison including Wilson garden Naga and Kulla Seena,who are named in one of the three FIRS are involved in illegal activities and operating in collusion with the officials.

This was unearthed during the Saturday surprise raid carried by CCB officials and found no incriminating material.

On suspicion to notice the prison was“clean and tidy“, the officials analysed the CCTV footage and found that the prison officials are cleaning the contrabands from the cell .

The raid was carried out by a team of 100 CCB officials and staff along with canine squad based on the information that rowdies and gangsters in the prison continue to operate from prison through mobile phones.

There were strong evidence that other contrabands were in use and a detailed probe has been launched to ascertain the source of the banned items and who were controlling the operations inside the prison, a senior police officer, said .

Based on the report,an FIR was registered based on the complaint filed by DIG prisons,M.Somashekhar,against Sudarshan K S,Paramesh Nayak Lamani,Rayamane K B cleaned the contrabands from all the cells with the help of convict,Mujeeb.

Reacting to the development,City Police commissioner, B.Dayananda said that the cases have assigned to ACP and two Inspectors to investigate and take legal action.
Considering the illegal activities inside the prison,Mr. Dayananda,said that the city police have requested the authority concerned to shift them to different prisons.

In order to damage control,the government transferred DIG Somashekhar,the complainant in the case replacing him with the DIG,Divyashree Khushi.

Meanwhile,K.Suresha,Superintendent of Prison,has been transferred as Chief Superintendent of Central Prison as V Seshumurthy,Chief Superintendent of Prison, Mallikarjun Swamy,Superintendent of Prison have been suspended pending further inquiry .

Court grant permission to shift Darshan:

The 24th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court on Wednesday granted permission to shift Darshan to Bellary district prison.The prison department has filed a report seeking permission .

However prime accused Pavithra Gowda in the murder case remained in the central prison while shifting of other rowdy sheeters involved in the incident is pending .
