Man a labourer arrested by Sampigehalli police for killing his drinking partner in shed fight over place for sleeping

The Sampigehalli police arrested Sadiq,27,a labourer for murdering his drinking partner in a shed in Hegdenagar on Saturday.

Senior officer told reporters the deceased Pushparaj,24, who is also labourer and alcoholic used to harass Sadiq and extort money from him frequently.The accused had even occupied the space of Sadiq where he used to sleep frequently .

Unable to bear harassment and humiliation Sadiq, crushed Pushparaj head with a boulder while he was sleeping and set the body on fire to conceal his identity .

Based on the tatto“Pubg Battle”found on the deceased hand the police ascertained his identify and later confirmed by his family members .

A team of police led by Inspector,Chandrashekhar M, verified the CCTV footage from in and around the area and also from the bars and restaurants before zeroing in on the accused .

The accused according to the police had asked money from his mother to flee out of the station, but since the mother did not have money she handed over Rs.50 to him.

If the accused had money needed to travel he would have escaped and was difficult to track him down within the golden hour,Mr.Chandrashekhar,said.
