New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Jaishankar has said that the era of continuous talks with Pakistan is over. He participated in the book launch program held in Delhi on Friday and gave a speech. Talking about India’s attitude towards Pakistan, he commented that if Pakistan behaves, India will respond accordingly. He said that India will take steps according to the situation. He warned that there will be appropriate consequences for the terrorist activities being carried out by Pakistan. It is stated that the relationship between the two countries is unstable due to frequent terrorist attacks in Jammu recently. Prime Minister Modi will not back down in this matter. Jaishankar said that the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir is a finished story.

Jaishankar mentioned about the political uncertainty in Bangladesh. He said that the country is facing a serious situation since the former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina left the country. In the wake of the attacks on Hindus there, they expressed concern about their safety. He commented that there is no country that does not have problems with neighboring countries. He said there is a need to provide mutual help and cooperation between countries.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently spoke to Mohammad Yunus, Chief Advisor to the Interim Government of Bangladesh. Yunus assured Modi of the safety of the minorities and Hindus of the country. He claimed that false propaganda is being spread about attacks on minorities.

Speaking as part of his visit to Singapore in March, Jaishankar lashed out at Pakistan. “Pakistan is promoting terrorism on an industrial scale . But India is not in a position to ignore terrorism at present. We need to find solutions to this problem. Every country wants a stable neighbor. If not, at least it hopes to be a conflict-free nation. Jaishankar clarified that terrorism cannot be left unchecked to improve relations with Pakistan.
