Bommai urges steps to operationalize hostels
Haveri:Former Chief Minister and Member of Parliament Basavaraj Bommai has welcomed the state government’s order to create posts for five post-metric hostels approved by the Backward Classes Welfare Department in Haveri district.
In a press release,Bommai stated,”During our government’s tenure, five post-metric hostels were approved for Haveri district.
These include a postgraduate hostel in Gotagodi (Folklore University, Gotagodi)with a capacity of 100 students,a boys’ hostel in Shiggaon Town with a capacity of 100 students,a boys’hostel in Guddada Channapura with a capacity of 150 students,a girls’ hostel in Guddada Channapura with a capacity of 50 students, and a boys’hostel in Savanur Town with a capacity of 100 students.”
He expressed concern that the incumbent government had delayed the establishment of these hostels but welcomed the recent order to create posts for them.
Bommai urged the authorities concerned to expedite the operationalization of the hostels,emphasizing the need to benefit students as soon as possible.
During his tenure,three buildings had been constructed, and the authorities should take necessary steps to make the hostels functional at the earliest.
