Absconding Rowdy-Sheeter nabbed after shootout by Dabaspet police

The Dabaspet police on Saturday morning opened fire at a 26-year-old rowdy-sheeter who was on the run.The accused Jayanth,according to the police,is a resident of Kudur having over 51 criminal cases pending against him.

The accused along with his associates is notorious for committing high way robberies.The Dabaspet police who registered a case of robbery in July against him recently were on his lookout .

The police on Saturday at around 6 pm received a credible information that Jayanth was operating in the area and a team of police rushed to Dabaspet Ramanagar highway,Mahimapura cross and pinned down Jayanth after a hot chase .

While police were taking him into custody,Jayanth attacked head constable Imran Khan with a pepper spray and a knife he was carrying and tried to escape . Imran Khan dodged the attack but sustained deep cut injury on his left hand.

Senior police officer warned Jayanth to surrender and later fired at his right leg to stop him from fleeing.The duo was later shifted to near-by hospital for treatment .

Jayanth is presently being treated at Victoria hospital and said to out of danger while Imran Khan had got six stitches on his left hand .

The Dabaspet police have registered another case of for assaulting police officer against Jayanth for further investigation.
