In order to decongest Majestic area from haphazard Parking the Upparpet traffic police since Friday launched special drive to tow vehicles especially two wheelers parked on roadside on no parking zones in and around Majestic area and booked as many as 100 cases so far.
The decision following the High court direction to the authority concerned to streamline the traffic in Majestic area especially around freedom park which is aggravating traffic problem to the existing situation .
The BBMP has provided two towing vehicles which we are using to tow vehicles parked on either sides of the busy road on the busy KG Road and adjacent roads,a senior police officer part of the drive, said .
Despite the availability of parking on both sides of the are many people continue to park in no-parking zones, worsening the situation.
The traffic police have even created awareness on public announcement for the last one month.
We have even put up no-parking signs installed on roads like Kalidasaa Road and Gandhinagar 1st Main Road,but motorists continue to violate, t
he police said .
The drive would continue till the parking problem is streamlined and help smooth flow of traffic, he added
