The Bellandur police have registered a case of assault against a gang for assaulting a driver of water tanker for refusing to pay donation for Ganesha festival .
Based on the complaint by Mahboob Sunhani,31, resident of labourer colony in Bhoganahalli the police have registered a case of assault,wrongful restrain and provoking breach of trust against a local goon identified as Yeshwanth appu and his associate Manju on Friday for further investigation.
Mahboob was returning home from work in the wee hours of Sunday when the accused confronted him and demanded Rs.500 towards the donation of Ganesha festival.Mahboob did not have money except Rs.10 which he offered .
Agitated by this the duo started assaulting Mahboob punching on his face and even beat him up with a club .
Due to the sudden attack Mahboob suffered head injury and collapsed and passed out.Few minutes later passers-by noticed him lying on the roadside and alerted his family.
He was rushed to a near-by hospital from there shifted to victoria where he is being treated for internal bleeding and swollen face.The police are now on the lookout for the accused who are absconding .
