Are the days of working at the speed of mind coming.. Technology has become available to give commands to Alexa with just brain signals.
A 64-year-old man was implanted with a device on the brain blood vessel. With its help, Synchron revealed that the icons on the Amazon Firestick tablet were used with the help of mental thoughts.
It has been revealed that this experiment was conducted with the help of a patient named Mark who is suffering from ALS. The patient was able to give Alexa commands with the help of her brain to make video calls, play music, stream shows, use smart home devices, shop online, and read books. “I’m able to do the important things I need and access entertainment. I felt like I had regained the freedom I had been missing,” says Mark. ALS is a degenerative neurological disease. It weakens the muscles and leads to paralysis.
Synchron has launched this experiment to let customers know that patients can do their work in smart homes with the help of Alexa-connected devices on their devices. “Smarthome systems operate with touch or voice commands. But, we’re sending signals directly from the brain,” said Tom Oxley, CEO and founder of Synchron.
