Andhra : 33% reservation for BCs in legislatures

The state government has taken a key decision to implement 33 percent reservation for BCs in the legislature. Chief Minister Chandrababu directed the officials to place the relevant file before the cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

Today, Amaravati: The state government has taken a key decision to implement 33 percent reservation for BCs in the legislature. Chief Minister Chandrababu directed the officials to place the relevant file before the cabinet meeting on Wednesday. It has been revealed that a resolution will be passed on this in the upcoming assembly meetings and report to the Centre. NTR’s foreign education and education schemes implemented between 2014-19 were ordered to be revived. It is suggested to make necessary changes in the scheme rules so that SC, ST, BC and minorities benefit more. It is suggested to take steps for construction of BC Bhavans in 26 districts. It was ordered to release Rs.10 crores for the strengthening of BC Study Circles. They want to form an IAS study circle with 100 candidates. He conducted a review with the officials of the BC and EWS welfare department at the secretariat on Tuesday. He spoke on this occasion.

Reorganization of BC Corporations

The CM ordered the officials to reorganize 56 BC corporations so that 139 castes in BC get government benefits. They suggested that a comprehensive plan should be made on the programs to be carried out by the corporations to make them financially stronger. It has been clarified that it should be caste-wise and sub-caste-wise. It has been suggested that Rs.38 crores should be released immediately by the state to provide subsidized loans of Rs.100 crores to BCs from the National Backward Classes Economic Development Corporation. The arrears of diet charges of Rs.110 crores and cosmetic charges of Rs.20.52 crores pending by the Vaikapa government for the students of Gurukul should be paid. It was ordered to immediately release Rs.10 crores for general repairs in hostels, Rs.25 crores for equipment for students, and Rs.89.18 crores for the grant of pre-metric and post-metric stipends. To improve the skills of the students in the hostels, Sankaran suggested setting up Resource Centers. It has been suggested to release Rs.8 crore for the completion of BC Bhavans in Chittoor, Srikakulam and Kurnool districts which were started during the TDP government’s tenure between 2014-19. They want to focus on the construction of BC community halls. It was ordered to take quick steps to frame the BC Protection Act. 

Plan for completion of 68 Kapu buildings

Chandrababu ordered the officials to identify the BPL families among other economically backward groups and prepare a comprehensive plan for their development. It is suggested to take steps for the construction of 68 Kapu buildings sanctioned during the tenure of the TDP government between 2014-19. In this, they want to release Rs.2.36 crores for the construction of two incomplete buildings.


Linkage of Gurukuls with RTGS: Minister Savitha

BC Welfare Minister Savitha revealed that CM Chandrababu has ordered to install CC cameras in BC Gurukuls across the state and link them with RTGS for continuous monitoring. She spoke to reporters at the Secretariat on Tuesday. ‘We are releasing Rs.75 crores to complete the buildings of four Gurukuls in Ummadi Anantapuram district. We will set up faculty development centers at 5 places in the state. A special program will be implemented to develop BCs as entrepreneurs. We are bringing a scheme called SEED to help the most backward sections of BCA. PM Vishwakarma, a central government scheme, will be applied to artisans,” the minister revealed.
