A special court in Bengaluru on Tuesday sent BJP MLA Munirathana accused of harassing a BBMP contractor, hurling casteist slurs and outraging a woman’s modesty to judicial custody and listed his bail application on Wednesday.
The MLA from RR Nagar in Bengaluru was produced before the Special Court for MLAs/ MPs (CCH-82) during the day after his two-day police custody ended.
The RR Nagar MLA Muniratna who was in police custody since Sunday complained uneasiness and sought medical help.
The police are gearing up to take him to Jayadeva hospital as he has the history of cardiac related aliment .
Munirathna who is being housed in Ashok Nagar police station for questioning had complained before the magistrate that he is suffering from cardiac and kidney related ailments .
The police are planning to produce him before the court on Tuesday to take him for custody again in the second case .
However Munirathna started complaining uneasiness and asked for medical help following which he was taken Jayadeva hospital,a senior officer,said .
sources said that Munirathna might apply for bail based on the medical condition and this is the ground to move the petition.
Earlier on Monday the police team collected the voice samples of Munirathna and the contractor who accused him of harassment .
The recorded samples have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for analysis.
The MLA from RR Nagar in Bengaluru was arrested from Kolar on September 14 while he was heading to Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile the Karnataka State Commission for Women said that a suo motu action has been taken against against Munirathna.
“We have received a complaint from Sowmya Reddy,the general secretary of All India Mahila Congress,and we are registering a suo motu case,”Dr Nagalakshmi Choudhary,the commission’s president, said .
“We will issue a notice seeking replay based on which necessary action will be taken,she added .
