edepa said that Gujarat-based National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) Coffe Ltd. has expressed suspicion that pork fat, beef fat and fish oil may have been mixed in the ghee used in the preparation of laddus, which was the Mahaprasad of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam during the reign of Jagan Mohan Reddy. It has been explained that the ghee has been adulterated on a large scale and the tests have revealed that it contains foreign fats other than those related to milk. TDP spokesperson Anam Venkataramana Reddy released the report to the media on Thursday. The TDEPA clarified that there were significant differences in the tested samples from the ‘S-value’ required for ghee as per the prescribed standards. TDEPA said that each sample was tested in total five equations and all of them showed ‘S-value’ above or below the specified criteria. After the alliance came to power, the quality of ghee was suspected and the samples were sent to NDDB Coffee for testing and the results were reported in July. Those reports have been released by TEDP recently. If you analyze them.. they are disturbing. Even for normal home use they are at an unacceptable level. Criticisms are being expressed that such things are present in Tirumala Laddu Prasad, which is considered sacred by crores of devotees.

In the following cases the results may be inaccurate

  • TDEPA stated that the report submitted by NDDB coffee company may lack accuracy in the results in the following cases.
  • If samples of ghee made from milk taken from severely malnourished cows are sent.
  • If samples of ghee prepared from milk taken from cows fed vegetable oils like mustard, linseed and palm oil are sent for testing.
  • NDDB Coffee Limited has informed that there is a possibility of differences in these standards if samples of ghee made from milk collected by Gerber, Weible-Berntrop, Ratzloff and other methods are sent
