Bengaluru:Chief Minister Siddaramaiah opined that the all-round progress of the country is possible only through the development of science.
He was speaking after presenting the Scientist and Engineer State Awards for 2022 and 2023 at an event held at the JN Tata Auditorium of the Indian Institute of Science (IISC).
The achievements of award-winning scientists serve as ideals for the younger generation.He appreciated that these accomplishments will help the young generation develop more interest in science and technology.
‘C.N.Rao’s achievement is a pride of mankind.His contribution to the development of science is commendable.
Karnataka State is number one in science,technology, and research.He hoped that the fruits of science and technology would reach the common people.
‘Bengaluru is the Silicon Valley of India,which reflects the contributions of many scientists and engineers’,he noted.
‘If interest in science increases and the number of scientists grows,the development of the country is possible.He stated that to eradicate discrimination in society,equal opportunities must be provided to all castes, religions,and classes.
It is a matter of pride that many scientists from rural areas have been awarded for their contributions,he said.
The CM opined that talent is not hereditary.Talent expands with opportunity and continuous hard work,he said.
Bharat Ratna Prof.C.N.R.Rao,Science and Technology Minister,N.S.Bosaraju,and many others were present.
