Hyderabad: The state government is going to crack down on irregularities related to transfers in the Stamps and Registrations Department. In the transfers of district registrars and sub-registrars that took place from the end of July to the first week of August, serious allegations were made that postings were given to the followers of some high-ranking officials, in complete disregard of the rules. Vigilance and Enforcement conducted an investigation at the field level and submitted a report to the government on this matter which was against the rules. It is known that Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy is serious about the postings of the accused officers. It is reported that he has ordered his superiors to provide more information on the matter of transfers and take strict action.

Actions against thirty more people

In July, the minister ordered the top officials of the department to carry out the transfers pending for a long time in the registration department. With this, all the transfers, which had not happened for nine years, were undertaken. He was promoted from attendant to superior officer. In addition, at the end of July, about 141 sub-registrars and district registrars were transferred. The sub-registers who were transferred in 2023 were also transferred. There are allegations that some have changed the ‘zero’ service provision in this order. It has been learned that the postings have been done at will in relation to some offices in Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Medchal, Yadadri, Nalgonda and Mahbubnagar districts. There were allegations that some people from the department head office and district registrars’ offices in Hyderabad interfered in the transfers and saw that the postings were allotted to the people they wanted, and large amounts of money changed hands. Anisha inspected the offices of two joint sub-registrars in the Patancheru registration office during the transfers. Unauthorized money and around 100 documents were seized. Both these officers were transferred to the surrounding areas of Hyderabad. In this order, Revenue Minister Ponguleti focused on the matter of transfers. It is reported that four important officials have been found to be involved in this matter. It is known that up to 30 other officers are involved. Some of them have got good posts. It is reported that the Stamps Registration Department will register criminal cases against those found guilty of violating government regulations. It is reported that a comprehensive investigation is being conducted as to who has benefited from the transfer of large sums of money. It is known that the service registers of those who have worked in the surrounding areas of Hyderabad have also been examined and the details have been collected.
