Chief Minister Chandrababu lashed out that Vaikapa president Jagan did not want to go to darshan after giving a declaration that he has faith in the living deity of Kali Yuga, Venkateswara Swamy, and that is why he canceled his trip to Tirumala. He expressed anger that the police had given a notice saying that they are not allowed to visit Swami without telling the matter. If they have given notice to Jagan, they want to show it to the media. If the former chief minister himself faced similar situations, would he allow Dalits to enter the temples? The CM strongly condemned Jagan’s comments in the press conference on Friday. Chandrababu spoke to reporters at the secretariat on Friday. ‘Who is stopping Dalits from going to temples? Why are you trying to find excuses not to go to Tirumala and deliberately smear others?’ They were angry.

‘Jagan is repeatedly spreading lies as Titide EO said that there was no adulteration in the ghee sent by AR Dairy Foods. AR Dairy sent a total of 8 tankers. Four of them were used. Doubts were raised about their quality and EO warned. However, as there was no change, the samples of the four tankers that came later were sent to the NDDB lab. It has been found that they are heavily adulterated and contain cattle and pig fat. It is not a report prepared by us. Given by NDDB. By revealing that report, Jagan is throwing insults at us as if we have damaged the faith of the devotees. If that report comes out in the future, will we make a mistake? Will God forgive us? Why did the tender rules for the purchase of Titide ghee change during the Vaikapa government? In the name of reverse tendering, why did they defile the prasads by giving the contract at Rs.319 per kg and buying inferior ghee? Don’t you remember how many times the devotees raised concerns during Vaikapa’s reign that the prasadam and Annadanam meals in Tirumala were not good and the rooms were not clean? “They have done all the bad things that should not be done in the most holy shrine and now they are launching a counter attack against us,” said Chandrababu.

As a devotee of Swami, I feel sad

‘I am saying this as a devotee of Venkateswara Swamy. I would have been very happy if those four tankers were also unused. I am sorry for the mistake. The thought of such an affront to the living God of Kaliyuga disgusts me. It is a different matter in which prasadam that ghee is used. Since there are no tests to confirm the adulteration of ghee in Tirupati, they used ghee from four tankers that came earlier. We will set up a world-class lab in Tirupati. We will talk to all the experts in the country and take strict measures. In the presence of Venkateswara Swamy, it is our responsibility to ensure that no unholy activities take place in the systems under Thithide’s management. Chandrababu clarified that it is not possible for any one person to come and harm the morale of crores of devotees. He denied that Jagan had said that during the Vaikapa government, samples were sent to a lab in Mysore to test the quality of ghee. He said that in the history of Titi, ghee samples have never been sent to outside labs, but for the first time they have been sent to NDDB lab.

It is not possible to transgress now

Isn’t Jagan saying that he has gone to Srivari darshan many times in the past and that he has now brought up the issue of declaration which was not there then? To the question.. ‘He was the Chief Minister at that time so no one stopped him. That is why all the misdeeds happened. Shouldn’t he be ashamed to say that he was involved in illegal activities as Chief Minister? Is it not a crime for someone who has taken an oath to respect the law and not to violate the constitution to violate them? Then do it repeatedly because the rules have been violated? Chandrababu asked if the legislators who make laws and regulations do not abide by them, why do people respect them?

How many anarchies have been done in temples in five years..

“In the last five years, there have been atrocities in many temples. There is no investigation till now if the head of Ram statue is removed in Ram Tirtha. If the chariot was burnt in the Antarvedi, the culprits were not caught. No action will be taken if silver lions are stolen from Durmamma temple in Vijayawada. In Anantapuram district, Easwara Reddy, a Vaikapa leader, set fire to Rama’s chariot and claimed that he had done it himself. If the chariots are burnt according to your wish, should you be justified?” Chandrababu fumed. That is why it has been decided that a law will be brought to ensure that only the people of that religion work in the places of worship of different religions including temples, churches and mosques, and that if people of other religions go into them, they must respect the traditions there.

If you don’t like it, don’t go. If you go, you have to follow the traditions

Chandrababu clarified that there is no need to go to Tirumala if Jagan doesn’t like it, and when he goes, he has to follow the traditions there as per the rules. He said that it is not possible to commit tyranny without signing the declaration. Anyone who has devotion to Venkateswara Swamy can visit him. There are certain traditions and methods for people of other religions to visit Swami. No one is greater than them. If Jagan wants to visit Tirumala, he has to give a declaration that he has faith in Swami. No one told him not to go to Tirumala. We were told not to hold rallies and public gatherings. Devotees have given local information that if Vaikapa leaders hold rallies and show of force… they will also gather thousands of people to compete. Chandrababu explained that the police have imposed prohibitory orders under Section 30 to prevent any untoward incidents from happening.

Will BJP leaders tell us not to follow tradition?

Isn’t Jagan saying that many special people have been appointed in the Tithide board, among them there are people associated with the BJP, and those recommended by the Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of other states have been appointed? To the question… ‘Does the BJP, other political parties or the constitution give permission to Jagan to violate the rules at will? Recommendations will come.. If there are good people among them, we will appoint them in the board. But it is wrong to turn Thithide’s board into a jumbo governing body and to use Venkateswara Swamy for politics, business and piravi. Chandrababu stated that it is wrong to commit anarchy by assigning the EO post to Dharma Reddy of the Defense Estates Service, which is supposed to appoint a senior IAS officer. It is his responsibility to see that no wrongdoing happens to Venkateswara Swamy. Chandrababu revealed that he will soon hold a meeting with intellectuals.

If there is respect for Hindu religion.. why not give a declaration in Tirumala?

‘It is not correct for Jagan to say that till now no one has asked him to give a declaration in Tirumala and now he is asking. He himself said that he reads the Bible between four walls. Does that mean he admits to practicing Christianity? Then why don’t you give a declaration when you go to Tirumala? Chandrababu asked if it is enough to respect the traditions of the place when going to the temple. ‘I am a Hindu. Devotee of Venkateswara Swamy. I do puja when it is open. When I go to churches and mosques, I respect their customs and rules. We practice our religion and maintain religious harmony. Jagan said that he practices religion only inside the room, but not outside. Vaikapa General Secretary Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy compared pig fat to gold and cow ghee to copper.. Will gold be added to ghee? Chandrababu questioned why Jagan did not condemn if he said that.
