engaluru:The Special Investigation Team (SIT)on Saturday conducted a raid at the house and office of BJP MLA Munirathna as part of spot Mahazar regarding three cases pending against him in Bengaluru on Saturday morning.
Munirathna is currently in judicial custody,facing charges related to demanding a bribe from a contractor,issuing threats,caste abuse,and rape.
The raid was led by SIT ACP,Kavitha at Munirathna’s residence in Vayalikaval.
Officials are reported to have examined various documents in search of technical evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.
Four days after Munirathna was grilled by the officials, the Special Investigation Team on Saturday carried out a series of raids on the residence and offices of Munirathna and his associates and recovered electronic items including laptops,pen drives,hard discs and DVRs pertaining to the case .
Several teams of officials carried the raids simultaneously at Munirathna’s residence in Vyyakaval and his offices along with residences of his three other associates .
The police gathered the available evidences which according to the officials will help in the investigation. The police are also checking the call record details of the accused mentioned in the FIR which.
The SIT team carried out the raids at around 7:30 AM, along with a team of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL and SOCO team .
Earlier the police have raided the godown cum office of Munirathna where the accused had allegedly raped the victim and gathered evidence .
The police are also verifying the details of Munirathna’s phone which he said that he had lost at the time of his arrest from Kolar earlier this month.
The SIT is also on the lookout for other accused in the crime who are presently absconding.
