The newly released slots will help thousands of Indian applicants get interviews on time, the US Embassy said. Moreover, it is believed to facilitate travel which is crucial in further strengthening US-India relations. The US Embassy said that for the second year in a row, more than ten lakh non-immigrant visa appointments have been made. At present, the focus is on families, business and tourists.
On the other hand, like last year, this time too, the American Embassy has revealed that a large number of student visas have been issued. It is noteworthy that this is the fourth time in a row that student visas have been issued in large numbers. However, it is not clear how many have been issued so far. In 2023, the US has given visas to 1.4 lakh Indian students
