The Parappana Agrahara police have arrested a delivery executive and his associate security guard and recovered 13 two wheelers worth Rs.12.7 lakh from them.
The accused according to the police,identified as Shabaz Khan and Om were caught red handed while moving suspiciously on a bike near Rayasandra lake.
A detailed inquiry led them to confess that they had stolen the bike which was parked in front of a house.
Based on their confession the police have recovered four stolen bikes parked near Shiva temple and two more bikes which they had parked at Sipcot police station parking lot in Hosur .
The duo used to move around the residential areas looking for parked bikes in front of the bikes and steal them the stolen bikes the accused would sell it on throwaway prices while unsold vehicles they would park in isolated places,the officer,said.
With their arrest the police managed to detect 10 vehicle theft cases reported in and around the city.City police commissioner had advised people to ensure safety of their vehicles while parking in front of the houses.
The safety locks and CCTV cameras along with necessary security measures should be adopted to prevent vehicle thefts,Mr.Dayananda,said .
