Iranian missiles heading towards Jerusalem, Israel
Jerusalem, Washington: Fears have come true. West Asia is on fire. On the brink of a regional war. Iran rained missiles on Israel, which killed the top leaders of Hezbollah and Hamas. Israel fired 180 missiles at the cities of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem on Tuesday night. Israel was able to prevent many of these with the help of America. Others hit these cities. Israel has claimed that only a few people were injured on its side, though details of the casualties are not known. Iran’s missile launch came within hours of Israel announcing that it had launched airstrikes in Lebanon to retaliate against Hezbollah. Missiles launched from Iran entered Israel within 12 minutes. Iran informed its international partners about these attacks. It has officially announced that tens of ballistic missiles have been used. Iran has warned that its response will be more severe if Israel launches retaliatory strikes. Bewildered by Iranian missiles, the Israelis went into bomb shelters and hid. Others were hiding in sheltered places by the roadside. Sirens rang out across the country. The government has alerted people through TV channels and mobile phones. US President Biden has issued orders to his forces to shoot down Iran’s missiles. Israel has warned that Iran’s attacks must be retaliated against. With this, there are clear indications that this war will expand and turn into a regional war. Two gunmen opened fire indiscriminately in Jaffa, Israel. In this incident, six Israelis were killed and dozens were injured.
Attack on border villages
Israel has targeted Hezbollah targets in what it calls a ‘limited, localized’ operation. They especially attacked the villages near their border. It has defended itself against doing so because of the immediate threat to locals in northern Israel. Hezbollah, however, denied the reports of the attacks. Mohammed Afifi, the representative of the group, said that it is untrue that Israeli forces have entered Lebanon. He said that his fighters are ready to fight the enemy directly. He warned that medium-range missiles were fired at Israel and that was just the beginning. The ‘Division 98’ para trooper commandos, one of the most powerful forces in the Israeli army, entered southern Lebanon on Monday night. Six people have been killed in an Israeli airstrike on a Palestinian refugee camp. Israel has advised people not to enter certain areas of southern Lebanon. All those north of the Avali River have been warned to evacuate. The Israeli army has imposed restrictions on people’s movement due to the possibility of further attacks from Hezbollah.

Direct attack will not be tolerated: Austin
US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin has warned Iran that there will be dire consequences if it launches a direct attack on Israel. He reiterated Israel’s right to defend itself. “We recognize the need to neutralize Hezbollah structures along the border to avoid attacks like the one on Israel on October 7. People on both sides of the border must return to their homes safely. I made it clear that it required a diplomatic resolution. America is ready to protect US personnel and allies from Iran and its supported groups.
