Hard workers will definitely find employment:Bommai

Gadag:A country with skilled youth will not have poverty. There is a shortage of skills in India and for this reason Prime Minister Narendra Modi has established a special department for skill development to provide training, said former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the district-level employment fair in Gadag on Monday, organized by the Employment Information and Training Center of KLE Society’s J.T.College,in association with the S.R.Bommai Trust and the S.V. Sankanur Fans Association,Bommai said:

Bommai said “I have been given the responsibility of departments that provide employment in the fields of skill development, labor, and textiles.I am working hard to present a report that supports job creation, in line with the Prime Minister’s vision of a skilled India.

Around 2,000 students have gathered here. There is a gap between education and employment. There is a difference between the skills organizations seek and what we learn.

To bridge this gap, students should receive skill training before graduating.Technical and skill training is essential.Training provided by private organizations does not stand up to international standards,he added.

The former CM said in big cities, both husband and wife need to work, not just for money, but because money brings respect in society and enhances self-esteem. Employment brings dignity.Initially, there were concerns about India’s growing population.People argued that the population must be controlled.

However, the Prime Minister said that the country’s economy can grow because of our population.About 40 per cent of the population consists of youth.Modi referred to this as a demographic dividend.

Needs overhauling

The MP said nowadays,English is emphasized everywhere. Most students score well in social studies and geography, but struggle in mathematics, often scoring only 35 marks. The education system must change to encourage scientific knowledge. The ‘Learn and Earn’ system is already in place.

The central government has a scheme to provide jobs to one crore youth, and the government will pay their salaries.More young people should take advantage of this opportunity.

Gadag has great potential for the future, and industrialization will take place here. Many jobs will be created, and local students should benefit from this.

His dream is that no graduate or technically trained individual should remain unemployed. They should be able to find jobs anywhere or become job creators.Only then will this country progress,he said.

Bommai said they often assume that only a few wealthy individuals build the country. That is not true. The people at the bottom of the pyramid are many, while those at the top are few. In 2014, there were 42,000 crorepatis in India earning over one crore annually.

Now,more than three lakh people earn over one crore annually. There is no magic in economics. Success comes only with hard work, honesty, strong determination, and the desire to achieve.Youth must aim high. The whole world is yours. The sky is the limit. Achieve good names for yourselves and for the country.

The MP said establishing institutions doesn’t mean building new ones. They already have ITIs and engineering colleges.By strengthening these and providing proper training to students, they will become capable. He had implemented a Women’s Empowerment Scheme, offering loans of up to 8 lakh rupees for women to start self-employment.

The current government has stopped this scheme. He had also planned a training and loan scheme for craftsmen like blacksmiths, potters, and carpenters.

Similarly, they devised a plan to train and provide employment to SC/ST women.Anyone who is willing to work hard will definitely find employment,he added.

He said in the Shiggaon constituency,he established a diploma college, veterinary college,ITI,GTTC,and a textile park.

This has created employment for around 10,000 girls. He had provided jobs to 1,000 girls myself.I also brought NTTF to Savanur Taluk. Here, after just 10 to 12 weeks of training, youths earn a salary of about 25,000 rupees. However, young people are not showing enough interest”.

Through education and employment,Legislative Council member S.V.Sankanur is acting as a guiding light for youth. His contributions are significant, and thanks to his vision, continuous development work is happening in Gadag. His commitment to work is commendable, Bommai said, offering his congratulations.

The event was attended by C.C.Patil,MLA Dr.Chandru Lamani,Legislative Council member S.V.Sankanur,and various company heads.
