Tragedy at Chennai IAF Airshow | Chennai: Five people were killed in the tragedy that took place at the Air Force Air Show on Sunday at Marina Beach Road in Tamil Nadu. Due to this, severe criticism is being expressed against the DMK government. The state government replied to the criticism that this situation did not arise due to stampede and mismanagement. DMK leader Saravanan Annadurai revealed that many who were admitted to the hospital due to illness have been discharged and the condition of the two who are being treated at Rajiv Gandhi Hospital is stable.

It was widely publicized that massive aerial maneuvers were being conducted. Defense forces announced that around 15 lakh people arrived on Sunday. 14-15 km along the coast. Crowds gathered. Many lanes were closed at the start. When the program is over, no one can go anywhere. The number of victims increased due to the lack of water on the beach road and the increasing intensity of the sun. While many people resorted to suburban and metro trains to avoid the traffic problems, huge scuffles took place at those stations as well.

AIADMK and BJP criticized this. AIADMK chief Palaniswami Duyyabhatta said that the incident happened due to lack of coordination and adequate arrangements. The opposition parties demanded the resignation of key leaders including Chief Minister MK Stalin. “We have organized this event properly. We are investigating the reasons behind the death of five people. During the show there were high temperatures. People had to walk long distances. Saravanan responded that the DMK blames the government for politicizing this incident. DMK MP Kanimozhi X responded on this matter. “The news that five people died due to the high temperature and the crowd who had come to watch the air show was very disturbing. Unmanageable groups should be avoided,” she commented.
