. Somanna,Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti,Government of India,conducted a review meeting at South Western Railway,Head Quarters to review the status of railway projects of Karnataka.MLA,Mahesh Tenginkai was also present during the review meeting.
Major projects which were reviewed during the meeting are Ginigera–Raichur New Line,Kadur–Chikkamagaluru New Line,Bagalkot–Kudachi New Line,Dharwad– Belagavi New Line,Hubballi–Ankola New Line, RayadurgTumakuru New Line,Gadag–Wadi New line, Chitradurga-Davangere New Line,Bagalkot–Kudachi New Line, Hassan–Belur New Line,Shivamogga– Shikaripura-Ranibennur New Line,Hotgi–Kudgi-Gadag Doubling,Hospet–Vasco Da Gama Doubling.
All the projects were discussed in detail with their preset status regarding land acquisition, DPR,Tender progress etc and MoSR has advised all the Railway Officials to complete the projects by June 2027 on priority basis.He also instructed the Railway Officials to clear the bottle-necks during the execution of projects.
Addressing to the media after the meeting,V. Somanna emphasized the substantial contributions of South Western Railway to Karnataka.
He stressed the importance of completing railway projects on schedule and directed officials to expedite the acquisition of any remaining land.
V.Somanna also instructed the officials to prioritize 22 key projects and ensure their completion within the stipulated time frame.
General Manager,Arvind Srivastava,Additional General Manager,K.S. Jain,Principal Head of Departments, Deputy Commissioner of Dharwad,Smt. Divya Prabhu, and Deputy Commissioner of Belagavi,M.Roshan (through VC) and other senior railway officials were present during this occasion.
