Renowned industrialist Ratan Tata managed his business driven by patriotism, without being concerned about profit and loss, said former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai.
Expressing deep sorrow over the passing of Ratan Tata, the former CM stated that Tata did not engage in business solely for profit. His deep sense of patriotism was reflected in his business dealings, which is why he grew into an industrialist that the entire nation is proud of.
Starting as an employee in the Tata Group,he later led the company to global prominence for nearly two decades, demonstrating his foresight.
Tata made India proud by acquiring foreign automobile companies and by making the dream of owning a car accessible to the middle class through the production of the Nano car, priced at just one lakh rupees.
Recalling Tata’s contribution to Dharwad,Bommai said, “When he visited Dharwad,he had discussions with my father, the late former Chief Minister SR.Bommai, which resulted in the establishment of the Tata Motors factory in Dharwad.”
Ratan Tata’s loss is not only a setback to the industrial sector but also to the entire country.I pray that God grants peace to his soul and gives strength to his family and admirers to bear this loss,”Bommai said.
