Amaravati: Low pressure continues in Bay of Bengal. It is likely to strengthen and become an air mass. It will move west-northwestward towards North Tamil Nadu and South Coast in the next two days. Due to this effect, there will be widespread rains in South Coast and Rayalaseema today and tomorrow. Heavy to very heavy rains are likely at some places. Meteorological department officials said that heavy rains are likely to occur in many places. Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in some parts of West Godavari, Eluru, Krishna, NTR district, Guntur, Bapatla, Palnadu, Prakasam, Nellore, Kurnool, Nandyala, Annamaiya, Chittoor and Tirupati districts today. Light to moderate rains are likely in some parts of the rest of the districts. 35-55 km per hour along the coast. A warning has been issued to the fishermen not to go hunting as the winds will blow at your speed.

Heavy rains across Nellore district on the second day

On the second day due to low pressure, it is raining incessantly across Nellore district. Officials have set up 146 rehabilitation centers. SDRF teams have been prepared in Venkatagiri and Nellore. People belonging to low-lying areas in Kavali and Kodavalur mandals have been moved to rehabilitation centers. Due to the possibility of heavy rains and winds for the next two days, the Collector has declared a holiday for the educational institutions on the second day as well.

Incessant rains are falling all over Prakasam district. Konkalametla, Podili, Ponnalur and Pamuru received high rainfall. 8 rehabilitation centers have been set up in the coastal villages of Ongolu, Kothapatnam, Tanguturu and Singarayakonda mandals. A holiday has been announced for educational institutions in the district today.
