Trio held by Ramamurthynagar police for robbing elderly couples over trivial row and recovered stolen property worth Rs.9 lakhs

Enraged over frequent fights over rent,a 46-year-old man roped in his two friends to rob his landlord before being caught by Ramamurthynagar police.

The accused has been identified as Shivakumar,46, Manikantan,32,and Prashanth,31.

Senior officer said,Shivakumar,who ran a condiments shop in the city had a disagreed over the payment of rent with the his landlord .

After series of confrontations,the accused decided to teach him a lesson and roped in Manikantan and Prashanth to plan and execute the job.

As per the plan on September 21,the duo,Manikantan and Prashanth armed with machete and knife barged into the landlord house in Kasturi Nagar and robbed the valuables from the couple at knife point .

Based on the complaint the he Ramamurthynagar police registered a case,verified the CCTV footage to identify the accused and track down the accused near Vijaya Bank Colony.Police also found the stolen two-wheeler.

During questioning the trio confessed to the crime. Police also recovered 120 grams of gold ornaments worth Rs 9 lakh.
