The Kengeri police have arrested a 64-year-old cook for strangulating his son to death over a drunken brawl at their house in Nagadevanahalli in Kengeri in the wee hours of Saturday.
The deceased Rajesh,36,a cab driver by profession came home drunk and created ruckus and broke the glass window pane and kicked the gate.
Lingappa woke up and tried to pacify by Rajesh in an inebriated state attacked him.Enraged Lingappa picked up a wooden plank and assaulted Rajesh and tied his hands with a rope .
He later used the same rope to strangled him to death when he continued to shout and hurling abuses to disturbed the neighbourhood .
The murder came to light when deceased mother Puttamma called her relative for help who rushed to the house but it was too late.
They found Rajesh lying dead outside the house with hands tide with the head injury.
The relatives informed the police who rushed to the spot and shifted the body to the hospital for post-mortem and arrested Lingappa.
Inquiries revealed that Rajesh used to come home drunk and fight with his parents frequently.The police charged Lingappa for murder and further investigations are on.
