India-China: Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi reacted to the withdrawal of forces from the Chinese border.
According to the latest agreement, the status quo of 2020 will continue along the LAC. In 2020, the soldiers of both the countries will be able to freely go to patrolling points. It is known that India’s Secretary of External Affairs Vikram Misri announced this in a press conference on Monday. An agreement has been reached between the two countries on the resumption of patrolling along the Line of Actual Control. He added that this progress is a result of the discussions held by diplomatic and military negotiators over the last few weeks. It is noteworthy that the announcement regarding this agreement came out on Tuesday when Prime Minister Modi left for the BRICS summit to be held in Russia. According to diplomatic sources, there is a possibility that Modi will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping at the conference.
On June 15, 2020, a fierce clash between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley of eastern Ladakh led to a tense situation. 20 Indian soldiers including Colonel Santosh Babu from Telangana were martyred in the clash. China also lost a lot of soldiers. But that number was not revealed. After several months it was officially acknowledged that the five were dead.
