What job should we do after graduation ?.. This was the thought of average Indian students in the past. Now their mindset is changing rapidly. Not doing jobs.. They are competing to clarify them. They are making plans to do some business.. to become aspiring entrepreneurs. 14 percent of those enrolled in degree or equivalent courses plan to start businesses after graduation. A survey report conducted by IIT Mandi on Indian students in the name of Global University Entrepreneurial Spirit Students (GES) has revealed many such interesting points. While the international average in this regard is 15.7 percent, it is remarkable that India is close to it. As part of an online survey, this survey was conducted on Indian students studying in various educational institutions across the country between November 2023 and February 2024. 61.8% of them are boys and 38.20% are girls. This report was recently released by IIT Mandi. The report reveals that most of the Indian students have entrepreneurial traits and spirit. The survey predicts that the percentage of people who will become enterpreneurs in India will reach 31.40 in the next five years. At the same time, the world average is 30 percent. While 32.50 percent of the students studying in the country’s colleges are thinking of becoming aspiring entrepreneurs, the world average is only 25.70 percent.

There should be a change in the thinking of the students.

  • India has already ranked third in the world in terms of startups. In 2023, 34,842 new startups were registered across the country. That is an average of 96 per day. In April 2022 it will be only 80 per day.
  • There is a growing culture of startups and incubators in educational institutions. Technology business incubators have been operating successfully for the last few years in central universities like IITs, Triple ITs and HCU. Currently there are 2,951 incubation centers. By inviting those who have established businesses and industries and are successful, they inspire the students.
  • Technology is making it easier for entrepreneurs to reach investors who fund their businesses and customers to sell products. Even leading companies like Tata are encouraging startups by investing in aspiring startups.
  • Due to the influence of social media, the advertisement and promotion of the respective products and services has become easier.
  • In addition to direct workers, there is abundant availability of human resources in the country, such as gig workers who deliver goods to consumers.
  • Many companies are coming forward to provide marketing and promotion strategies with data analysis to those who want to start a business.

Seeing the winners before the eyes..

In the past, parents used to object if a married person wanted to do business or set up any industry . There was an idea in the society that business is only for the uneducated. Now that trend is changing. Today’s youth are fascinated by seeing many people starting businesses with innovative ideas and technology right before their eyes. They want to follow the same path after observing the success of their predecessors. Many people in today’s generation start startups and sell to other big companies. A good idea is enough.. Many companies are coming forward to invest. Today’s youth is also ready to take risks. Overall, the mindset of the youth is changing rapidly.
