Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is facing strong opposition from his own party. About 24 MPs of the minority government are demanding his resignation.
Canada : Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is unhappy within the country itself. 24 liberal members demanded his resignation. The party held a closed-door meeting on Wednesday. Its members expressed dissatisfaction that Prime Minister Trudeau’s attitude was the reason for the serious damage in the elections held in June and September this year. Immigration Minister Mark Miller, known as Trudeau’s close friend, said, “This is something that has been going on for a long time. People need to expose this. The MPs honestly revealed to the Prime Minister what happened in the election. They told him whether he wanted to hear it or not,” he said to the reporters.
Canada Broadcasting Corporation revealed that 24 out of 153 MPs have signed the letter calling for Trudeau’s resignation. It seems that a deadline of October 28 has been imposed. It will become more challenging for the government which is already in minority. The Liberals lost two strong seats in the June and September elections. Moreover, the MPs are of the opinion that the party’s preparations for the upcoming elections are also bad. Party MP Eriskin Smith said Trudeau still has time to fix the situation. It is important to listen to your colleagues when they express their dissatisfaction. During this meeting, Trudeau told reporters that they are strong and united. He revealed that he will lead the next elections.
The NDP, which ran the government along with the Liberals for a long time, was also badly hit in the British Columbia elections this time. There, the Conservative Party became stronger than anyone expected. A recent Nanos Research survey revealed that as of October 15, 39 percent of people support the Conservatives, while the Liberals have only 23 percent. It has been found that 21 percent of people are positive for the New Democrats.
Canada has accused Indian government agents of targeting Khalistani supporters and links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gangs. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recently admitted that he only had prior intelligence about the allegations. The relations between the two countries have been seriously damaged due to these allegations.
