Inmate of Rehab centre found dead under mysterious circumstances management booked by Bellandur police

The Bellanduru police have taken up a case against a rehab centre in Haraluru following the death of a 40-year-old inmate under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday.

The deceased Shankrappa,a hotel employee was admitted to new hope rehab centre on September 28 after he was addicted to alcohol following the death of his elder brother.

The family also paid a fee of Rs.10,000 towards the charges for accommodation and treatment. On Tuesday the family members received a call from the rehab informing that Shankarappa was unwell and admitted to the hospital.

By the time the family reached the centre,he was declared dead.Upon inquiry the staff told the family that Shankarappa while having breakfast collapsed and died.

However the family members alleged that they have noticed his private parts have swollen and accused the staff of torture and assault led to the death .

Based on the complaint filed by Manjappa,the police have registered a case of suspicious death and are awaiting for the post-mortem report for further investigations.

Shankarappa was living in Bellanduru with his wife and two children.
