Today, Hyderabad: “Rahul Gandhi is a leader who has the idea of answering not with words but with hands. Guaranteed caste census for social justice. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy praised him. The Chief Minister was speaking at a conference on caste consultation held on Tuesday at the Gandhi Ideology Center in Boinpally, Secunderabad under the auspices of the PCC. “According to Rahul Gandhi’s promise to the people of this country during the elections, the Telangana government has officially undertaken the social, economic, political, educational and employment caste survey. Rahul Gandhi came to meet civil society and public representatives. It takes courage to take this decision. There should be social responsibility. In the face of political ups and downs… there should be sincerity to keep the given word. Today, with the same courage…Rahul Gandhi came to Hyderabad to appreciate the decision taken by the Telangana government and receive suggestions from the civil society even though there are elections in Uttar Pradesh, Kerala and Maharashtra.

It is our duty to fulfill those responsibilities

On that day, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi… came to the people with the slogan ‘Food, Cloth, Houses (Roti, Kapada Aur Makan)’. After that, Rajiv Gandhi and other Prime Ministers came with the slogans of electricity, roads, water (Bijli, Sadak, Pani). Now Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjunakharge and Rahul Gandhi have come forward with the slogans of education, medicine, jobs and social justice. When Rahul Gandhi asked with sincerity to provide social justice to the poor… our main duty as his soldiers is to fulfill those responsibilities. Some ask me, ‘how can you implement this in the upper caste’? When our leader decided to undertake caste census with dedication for the welfare of the nation.. I told them that as Chief Minister of Telangana it is my responsibility to implement it.

57.11% of those who wrote Group-1 Mains were BC candidates

Rahulji… Telangana government recently conducted group-1 mains. Three lakh applications were received for 563 posts. 31,383 candidates qualified for mains in the ratio of 1:50 out of the candidates who wrote the prelims. Some criticized that this selection favored upper caste candidates. But, that is wrong. Although the facts are being placed before the civil society… Among the selected candidates, OCs are 3,076(9.8%), EWS 2,774(8.8%), OBCs 17,921(57.11%), SCs 4,828(15.38%), STs 2,783(8.8%) respectively. While BCs get only 27% reservation in Telangana… 57.11% of the candidates selected for mains are them. This is the sincerity of our government.

Center should include caste census in 2025 census

From Kanyakumari to Kashmir.. From Manipur to Mumbai, thousands of km. You have trekked through ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. You have given assurance to the SCs, STs and OBCs of the country. It is our duty as Telangana government to keep your promise. Without any litigation… without any objections from the civil society… we will complete the caste census one hundred percent and provide the BCs with due reservation. In the census to be conducted by the central government in 2025, we have passed a resolution in the state cabinet requesting that a special column be reserved for caste census. Requesting you to mention this matter in the Lok Sabha… we are passing a resolution on this platform. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said addressing Rahul Gandhi, “We are placing the responsibility of bringing this issue to Modi’s attention in the Lok Sabha.”
