Haveri (Shiggaon):The sincerity and innocence of the Halumatha community are being misused for the political gain of some individuals and his family’s connection with this community dates back to his father’s time, said former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai.
Speaking today at an election campaign event in support of BJP candidate Bharat Bommai at Hiremanikatti village in Shiggaon taluk on Tuesday,he noted that earlier, prominent leaders would seek votes by discussing the country’s and the state’s development. However, now there are leaders who resort to falsehoods to gain votes. In total, the election process has changed.
Farmers, the Halumatha community, the Gangamatha sect, and fishermen are all hardworking people who live by their labour. Those who are connected to the soil are the true toilers.
The sincerity and innocence of these people have been exploited by some politicians for their own political benefit. His family’s connection with this community began during his father’s time. ”
My father contested against D.K.Kambali,a leader of the Halumatha community, and won.Despite that, they shared the same room in the legislators’ quarters and maintained strong relations”,he recalled.
Bommai said when BS.Yediyurappa was Chief Minister, he called him to assist in budget preparation.I worked on budget formulation.
When he asked me what funds I needed for my constituency, I requested funds for the development of Kanakadasa’s birthplace.
He also asked what else was required, to which I requested funds for a memorial for Shishunala Sharif and Aluru Venkata Rao.
He sanctioned Rs. 3 crore. Even Kanakadasa, who kept away from politics, faced defeat against his cousins. When the goddess appeared to him, he became a saint and said, “In that defeat, I discovered myself; I won over myself.”
The former CM said he has built over 300 houses in Hiremanikatti village, yet some claim that Bommai has not constructed a single house. Is what the public says true or what the CM says true?.No one imagined that I would bring the Varada river water here.I have developed without any discrimination, and this development must continue.Hence,I request you to vote for Bharat Bommai to continue these development works” .
The MP said after he resigned as MLA, people have been made to frequent the police station for every issue, creating an environment of distress. This situation needs to be corrected, and peace must be restored in the constituency.
Former minister Byrathi Basavaraj was also present.
