Haveri (Shiggaon):Clarifying that waqf property must not belong to any individual,Union Minister Pralhad Joshi announced that the protection of Waqf property would also be included in the BJP’s manifesto for the upcoming elections.

Addressing a press conference in Shiggaon on Monday, he advised Congress leaders to read the BJP’s manifesto properly as it states the protection of the original Waqf property but does not endorse any encroachments.

There are Waqf properties worth Rs 2.3 lakh crore, and these properties are being exploited by Muslim leaders within Congress.

The minister said the purpose and regulations of Waqf are well-known,and the BJP has no objection to adhering to them. But there is a need to protect the properties donated to Waqf by both Muslims and some Hindus so that they do not fall into others’ hands.

The BJP’s stand has been that additional Waqf properties will be reclaimed, and the original Waqf properties should be used for their intended purposes.

Joshi refuted claims made by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and said the BJP has never said in its manifesto that it would go from village to village, hold courts, threaten tahsildars, and include properties in the Waqf register for protection.

CM’s habit of repeating lies

He said the CM has the audacity to say the same lie a hundred times and make it appear true.
