The Jigani police have busted an inter state drug racket and arrested a gang of six peddlers selling Charas laced chocolates to their customers who were mostly Paan Shop owners in and around the city .
The accused have been identified as Jeethu Singh,34, working in a private courier company,native of Bihar and his associates Anand Kumar,30,Abhay Singh,24,Somu Singh,19,Suraj Singh,28 and Ankur Singh,26.
The accused were caught red handed by a team of police while they were waiting to deliver the chocolates and Marijuana packs kept in the car and waiting for their clients to deliver on near Jigani lake on Wednesday.
The police have recovered five packets of Charas chocolates each weighing one gram and 450 grams of Marijuana from them.
According to the police the accused used to source the drugs from their native and sell it to the paan shop owners as their major clients through Ankur Singh.
Ankur Singh who supply paan masala to the petty shops also push Charas chocolates who would in turn sell it to their regular clients.
The Charas chocolates are neatly packed with brand name Shri Mahakaal,looks like chocolate from outside but the sold it to their regular clients .
The accused are peddling drugs for many months until, the Jigani police received a tip off from a pan shop owner who was approached by the accused recently to push the drugs a senior officer said.
