A 28-year-old woman employee was charred to death while 25 vehicles and others equipment gutted in a massive fire at Electric scooter showroom situated at Navarang junction on Rajkumar Road in Rajajinagar on Tuesday evening.
The deceased woman has been identified as Priya,28,year old resident of Ramachandrapuram and was employed at MY EV Store as Accountant.
Police suspect that short circuit from meter board which sparked the fire at the battery being charged led to explosion suspected to be cause of the fire mishap .
Due to the electric equipment and batteries and electrical goods aggravated the fire.However the fire and emergency service personnel and a team of FSL inspecting the site to ascertain the exact cause of the fire .
The deceased has been identified as Priya (28),an accountant along with six others employees was there at the time of the incident.
While six others rushed out as soon as the fire broke out Priya ran into the cabin for cover.But by then the fire engulfed the store and Priya chocked to death due to heavy smoke and later burnt,the officer, said .
Soon people and shop keepers from the adjacent area gathered and tried to put out the fire before alerting the control room.Four fire tenders rushed to the spot and after three hours of struggle managed to contain the fire .
The Rajajinagar police inspectors,as, Pramod of law and order and Mohammed Ali of Traffic with his staff with reached to the spot and blocked the road to help the rescue operations.
DCP,North Division,Saidulla Adavath,who visited the spot said that though there were few fire fighting equipment,it was of no use as staff was panicked and ran out to save themselves .
More over they are not aware on how to use the fire extinguisher,he said.One of the staff member sustained minor injuries in the accident and was treated and discharged,he said .
The police are now on the lookout for the owner of the showroom who had switched off the phone and not available.

Armugam,father of Priya said that Wednesday was Priya’s birthday and she had done shopping to buy a pair of new clothes .
She was resident of Ramachandrapura and working in the showroom for the past three years.
Priya left to work after breakfast at around 10 am and she would usually return by 7.15 pm.The family was not aware till 6 pm until they received a call by around 6 pm to inform about the incident.
The family was angry with the owner for his negligent act and not coming to the shop to inquire about his employees even after the mishap .
Immediately 2 fire tenders rushed to spot and the fire fighters swung into action and contained the fire.
Efforts are on to track him down,the police said adding a case of death due to negligence has been booked against Puneeth Gowda the owner of MY EV Store and manager said a senior officer.
