he Chikkaballapur district session court on Wednesday convicted a labourer and sentenced him to life imprisonment till his natural life for kidnapping a 14-year-old girl and raping her repeatedly in June 2020.
The accused Raju Das,a friend of victim’s father used to visit the house frequently and lured his daughter aged 14.
On June 25,Raju visited their house and took the girl in autorickshaw and took her to an isolated place and raped her.He later took the girl on a motorycle to his friends house in Madanapalli where he raped her again.
Meanwhile victim’s mother realized the girl is missing and filed a complaint with the Kencharlahalli police.
The police later investigated the case and track down the girl in Madanapalli and reunited with the family.
The police also arrested Raju charging him under kidnap, rape and also under various sections of the POCSO case and filed a charge-sheer before the court..
The accused during the course of trail, obtained interim bail and managed to escape to the Neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.
The police track down the accused in June and remanded to judicial custody till he was convicted on Thursday.
