Bihar’s Chaadar gang arrested by Byappanahalli police for robbing mobile shops and recovered stolen property worth Rs.22 lakhs

he Byappanahalli police have arrested a gang from Bihar for robbing a mobile shop and taking away mobile phones worth Rs.22 lakh .

The accused identified as Imtiyaz Alam,Javed Alam, Pawan sha,Manish Kumar,Rizwan Devan,Saleem Alam, Rameshwar Giri and Suraj Kumar from Bihar.

Senior officer said,The gang known as Chaadar gang, (bedspread)for their habit of carrying bedsheet to cover the CCTV while the others breaking open the shop and loot the electronic goods .

The accused would also cover their face with chaadar to conceal their identities and work as daily wage construction labourers in the day.

Some of the gang members would go for recce to identify the shops and commercial establishments and plan for attack .

Based on a complaint from the owner of a mobile shop, the police track down the accused and it was found that they would sell the stolen properties in Nepal to avoid being traced, a senior officer, said .

While the police caught the gang one of the member had already dispatched with the stolen goods to Nepal but the police chased and caught him in between.

The gang was also involved in similar cases in Udupi and Uttar Kannada which is being investigated he added.
