engaluru:A 19-year-old Bcom student who ended her life at her house in Rajajinagar on Friday is due to cheat by her classmate who had lured her into online game investment and made away with Rs.15 lakh gold valuables.
The accused has been identified as,Diganth.
Based on the complaint by Bharath Kumar,a goldsmith businessman,the Rajajinagar police have registered a case of abetment to suicide for further investigation .
Senior officer told reporters that during investigation we found that Priyanka B,was lured by her classmate to invesonline games to earn double the profit .
Trusting him Priyanka took the gold from home worth Rs.15 lakh and gave it to the accused identified as Diganth.The accused soon started avoiding Priyanka and refused to return.
He even threatened her with dire consequences stating that she never gave him any gold.Dejected by this Priyanka on Friday ended her life while her father was away on business trip .
The incident came to light when the family members found a suicide note where she had mentioned,Diganth was ill treated her and the reason for her extreme step.
The FIR revealed that Diganth convinced Priyanka to invest in casinos, taking the gold ornaments in the process. Despite her repeated requests, he failed to return the valuables.
The Rajajinagar police have registered a case under Section 108 of the Indian Penal Code (abetment of suicide) based on a complaint filed by Bharath Kumar and have launched an investigation into the matter.
