wo women who are mother and daughter were killed on the spot when a speeding ambulance knocked them down near bhukti dhaba in Vijayapura police station limits on Sunday.
The deceased Sarojamma,65 and her daughter Lakshmamma,45 labourers were crossing the road when the AP based ambulance returning empty after dropping patient to hospital.Knocked them down.
The deceased are from pavagada and returning home after work.They had come to work at an under construction site to get extra money on Sunday.
The impact of the accident was so high that both severely wounded and killed on the spot.
The Vijayapura police have arrested the driver and seized the ambulance.
The police have subjected the driver to Medical examination to ascertain whether he was under the influence of alcohol.
The Vijayapura police are further investigating .
