n Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the upcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations in Bengaluru with special emphasis on women safety, Home Minister G Parameshwar,said here on Monday.
Speaking to the media after attending a meeting with the senior police officials at the office of the commissioner of police,Mr.Parameshwar said that an expected crowd of over seven lakh people expected at gathered at the MG road, the police officials have been directed to take all precautionary measures and the concerned officials will be held responsible for any eventualities .
The state government has waged a war against drugs and taken a special drive to check on anti social activities including drunk and driving and bike stunts .
The habitual offenders should be kept a watch and ensure that the celebrations are peaceful .
Referring to the law and order issue earlier,which drawn world wide attention,Mr. Parameshwar said that the police should ensure peaceful celebrations of the event .
