Despite holding many key positions, he lived a simple life. I spoke to him many times on national and international issues. His death is saddening. On my behalf and on behalf of the people of the country, I pay tribute to him,” Modi said.

A funny incident happened to Manmohan Singh when he was a child with the Father of the Nation of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

: Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is not just an economist. He is also a hockey lover. The father of the nation of Pakistan, Jinnah, is proof of this. Manmohan Singh himself said this on one occasion. At one time, hockey was more popular in India than cricket. Manmohan Singh was born in Punjab, an undivided state of India. That region is currently in Pakistan. He was 13 years old in 1945.

One day, Manmohan was playing hockey with his friends at the Lahore Junior College ground. An old man was watching their game next to the ground. Meanwhile, the ball that Manmohan hit into the goal post went straight to the old man’s head. For a while, he did not even understand what had happened. Who was that old man? It was Muslim League leader Muhammad Ali Jinnah. His house was next to the college. Since they were young children playing, Jinnah also laughed and kept quiet

This funny incident was revealed by Manmohan Singh himself to some reporters in Bengaluru during the election campaign in Karnataka a few years ago. Responding jokingly, he was asked if he had attacked Jinnah before the current political leaders. Manmohan laughed in his own style. Earlier, a controversy had started over Jinnah’s portrait at Aligarh Muslim League University.
