During the five years of YSRCP rule, Tirumala was looted in many ways. On that day, the chairmen, members, and public representatives of the party gave their supporters breaks and quick darshans.
Vigilance officials submitted a report to the
YV Subbareddy government, which has given one lakh break darshans per year, on massive irregularities in all departments.
Tirupati: During the five-year rule of the YSRCP, Tirumala was looted in many ways. The then Thithide chairmen, members and public representatives provided breaks and quick darshans to their supporters indiscriminately. Vigilance officials have found that Thithide chairman Y.V. Subba Reddy misused his position and allocated break darshan tickets on a large scale. It seems that the vigilance officials have included in their report the issue that when Karunakar Reddy was the chairman, huge funds were allocated for engineering works even though they were not needed, which was putting a burden on Thithide. It is reported that the then Thithide EO Dharma Reddy also gave them support. Vigilance and Enforcement officials have recently completed the investigation into the irregularities committed during the five-year rule of the YSRCP and reported it to the government. The government is preparing to take action in this regard in the coming days.
Four years… 4 lakh break darshans
After the YSRCP came to power, Jagan’s uncle YV Subbareddy Thithide acted as the chairman for four years. Vigilance officials found that about 4 lakh break darshans were recommended during those four years. That is, 273 people were given them daily. It was found that 2-3 thousand tickets were recommended daily from the chairman’s office under quick darshan (Rs. 300). It was found that former ministers Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Roja and others were allotted darshan tickets on the basis of recommendation letters to the then public representatives belonging to the same community.
The whole collection is a farce.
Rice, jaggery, sugar, ghee, cardamom and cashew nuts are procured for prasadam in Tirumala. The vigilance report states that there were large-scale irregularities in the procurement of these. For example, when the price of sugar was low, it was purchased for two months. When the price was high, it was procured for six months. It was revealed that this was done in the procurement of all goods. It was found that even though tenders were called for quality goods, the contractors did not pay attention even when they gave second-rate goods. It was concluded that this caused losses to Thithide.
The inns were demolished.
It is reported that the report states that the Sri Govindarajaswamy and Sri Kodandaramaswamy hostels in Tirupati were demolished by Tosirajani in violation of the rules. There are 454 rooms in these two hostels. They used to provide accommodation to about 1,822 devotees daily. When Bhumana Karunakar Reddy was the chairman, he demolished them and approved the construction of Achyutham and Sripatham hostels at a cost of Rs. 600 crore. In February 2023, a proposal was made in the then Thithide Board of Trustees meeting to allocate Rs. 30.60 crore for the repairs of the hostels. The proposal was set aside to have experts examine this and decide whether to repair them or demolish and build new ones. Later, it was decided to demolish them and build new ones. The vigilance report states that even though there was scope for repairs, they were demolished and tenders were called for new ones without taking expert advice. It is reported that there was a large-scale corruption in this.
Cross-border allocations
The report clarified that funds were allocated for engineering works indiscriminately. It was found that Thitide proposed to spend a higher amount of funds for engineering works compared to the actual allocations in the budget. When Bhumana Karunakar Reddy was the chairman, he approved the construction of two hostels at a cost of Rs. 600 crore. Rs. 90 crore was allocated for construction in SWIMS, roads, and wedding halls. It seems that the allocation of funds for engineering works at will has made it impossible to do new works in the future.
CID investigation
Vigilance officials who investigated the reconciliation with Ravikumar, who stole foreign dollars from Parakamani, suspected the role of several officials in the entire affair. An investigation was also conducted in the past into the fact that the property found at the command control was used for their own needs instead of being deposited in the Srivari Hundi, but to no avail. It is reported that the government has been recommended to order a CID investigation into the entire affair.
Irregularities in appointments too
Vigilance officials have found irregularities in several appointments made by Thitide. It seems that the report states that Reddeppa Reddy was previously appointed to the post of Bird Director despite not being qualified. It is reported that the report states that the appointment of Jayachandra Reddy as the Special Officer of Balaji Institute of Oncology was illegal. It was also found that he was appointed at will in SVBC.
In Srivani Trust..
It seems that the vigilance officials have mentioned in their report that irregularities have also been committed in the name of Srivani Trust. The officials have found that a file has been prepared stating that Thitide has the possibility of giving up to Rs.25 lakh for the construction of a new temple. It seems that it has been found that up to Rs.35 lakh has been given to some temples. It seems that the report has mentioned that some temples were given more than the estimates, causing a loss to Thitide.
