Garment factory unit was gutted and materials due to suspected electric short circuit in Rukmini Nagar in Nagasandra in the early hours of Monday.
No one was injured in the accident as the fire accident occurred early in the morning.
Passers-by noticed the fire and alerted the fire control room.The fire and emergency service personnel rushed to the spot and after three hours of operation brought the fire under control .
Raw material and machinery worth lakhs said to have gutted along with the part of the building where the unit was situated on the second floor.
The fire and emergency service personnel acted swiftly to contain the fire spreading to the other parts of the building.
The unit belongs to Arun and Shivakumar and around 30 employees were working in the unit.The police have summoned the owners for questioning for further investigation.
