Haveri (Savanur):If children are given access to quality education,they can compete with any other children.The 21st century is the century of knowledge and those who possess knowledge will rule the world, said former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai.
Speaking at the 14th annual day celebration of the Smt. Gangamma S.Bommai Convent School in Savanur,he said the 21st century is a century of knowledge.
Those with knowledge will lead and govern the world. In earlier times, those who owned land ruled the world. Now, it is those with knowledge who govern.Knowledge leads to science, and science leads to technology.
This is how children grow and evolve.No one is born talented;it depends on the quality of education we provide.The way educational institutions maintain standards directly impacts children’s growth.
Bommai said it has been 76 years since they accepted our country as a republic.The nation has progressed significantly.
The roots of democracy have strengthened. Fundamental rights,equality, and fraternity have been safeguarded by the Constitution.Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar’s contributions are immense,and they must bow to him with respect.
The MP said Today marks the birth anniversary of my mother,Gangamma Somappa Bommai.Every year,along with Republic Day,we have been celebrating my mother’s birth anniversary for the past 14 years.
This institution faced many challenges in its early days but has now grown significantly.Thousands of students have graduated from this institution and pursued higher education, which is a matter of pride for all of us.
The efforts of Shivananad Bolashetti and Rajshekhar Guruswami Math are the reason behind this success. Their love for children is what drives this progress,”he added.
The former CM said many might assume that he has contributed a lot to this institution because it bears his mother’s name.However, his contribution is nothing.
This institution was built entirely through their hard work. Out of their respect for his mother and faith in him,they named the institution after her.I only advise them to provide quality education in my mother’s name”.
He said more quality educational institutions should come to Savanur.This is one of the most populous taluks. Children come here from nearby villages for education.
These children should receive the best education. This school should expand to include high school and PU courses.The institution should have its own dedicated building, and I will support this initiative.
